I will be showing a new work made specially for the  exhibition (Re)View at Cultuurcentrum Hasselt from 7th to 28th June 2015

The work is called: "The man who liked my painting (of a man walking past a painting) so much that he couldn't leave without it"

'The man who.... '  7,1 metres x 66cm,  paintings, reproductions of paintings, photographs and drawing, Fred bell 2015

14th March to 3rd May 2014, Antwerp.

In this exhibition I showed a new work which is the third in a sequence made over several years. All three are varied reconstructions of an arrangement of images which Morandi himself made, using a group of his own paintings which were to go into the Ingrao collection. I saw this group of paintings in the Morandi Museum in Bologna in 2007, and the photograph that I took then is included in this work, along with photos of my previous two reconstructions. All of my reconstructions were made using the same frames on the same wall in the same Gallery.
The title of the new work is: "Things my Mum and Morandi left behind"

'Imagine The Sound' is in The British Library

At the end of May 2013 the sound recordings that I made in London and Paris in 2009 were taken into the sound archive collection of The British Library. They were in the process of being catalogued in June and will be available to listen to at The British Library, St Pancras, London.

The recordings are not available to listen to on the Library's web site at the moment so here is an example, made available by Lokaal 01 where some of them were presented earlier this year. Just click on the link below:

My participation in this final exhibition at Lokaal 01 in Breda is the realisation of an idea 'Imagine the Sound' outlined in a book published in 2009 by Frederik Vergaert at Lokaal 01 in 2009. It consists of a sequence of sound recordings made in The National and Serpentine Galleries, London and The Louvre, Paris. These sounds made by visitors to large public museums are now experienced by visitors to a very different kind of exhibition space in The Netherlands.
